Abstract
Around 320 jobs are to be lost at a catering supplier after Casper Group who owns it went into administration.
Six of King UK's centres are shutting as a buyer could not be found for the firm. The business supplies a wide range of consumable and disposable products into the catering, airline and general wholesale sectors. Daniel Butters, from Deloitte who is over seeing the administration of Casper Group said: "Regrettably it has not been possible to find a buyer for King's contractual business and as a result 320 employees have been made redundant." Of these 320, three are from the same family. Peter West who works with his wife and son told the BBC that he had never been made redundant before and that the full impact of the situation was yet to sink in. Administrators Deloitte said they will be working with the staff to support them as much as they can: "We will be working closely with the Redundancy Payments Office and Job Centre Plus to provide support for all staff, which will include a fast track process for paying redundancy entitlements. We are extremely grateful to the staff and management for their support and throughout this difficult period." Location's for King's distribution centres, and associated redundancies include: Rugby - 59 Hemel Hempstead - 73 Cardiff - 26 Cumbernauld - 38 Northampton - 32 Plymouth - 11 Skelmersdale – 54 Other outbases (Birmingham/Medway/Rotherham) - 9 at each
