Catering parent company WSH shortlisted for Private Business Award

Westbury Street Holdings Ltd (WSH), the parent company for catering and hospitality businesses BaxterStorey, Holroyd Howe, Caterlink, benugo and Portico, has been shortlisted for the 2012 Private Business of the Year award.

Sponsored by PwC, in association with HSBC Private Bank and in support of the charity LEAP, the Private Business Awards aim to celebrate the best in the private business sector and underline its importance to the UK economy.

To make the shortlist WSH beat more than 600 other entries from across the UK.

The winners of the second annual Private Business Awards will be announced at a dinner at The Royal Opera House in London on September 6th.

To win a company must be able to demonstrate a progressive track record with solid cash flows, a defendable market position and growth in products or services.

Its management team will have demonstrated energy and drive, the long-term strategy will be intact and it will have made considerable progress with its financial, ethical and social ambitions.

Last year’s winner of this category was respected British technology company Dyson.

Reading-based WSH was founded on a vision to deliver fresh, locally sourced food, great service and skilled teams through industry leading training.

Last year it revealed year-on-year organic turnover growth of 12% and after only 12 years of trading, the company has a consolidated turnover of more than £406 million.
