Abstract
Irish contract catering and support services provider The Mount Charles Group has been named, for the fourth year in a row, one of Ireland’s ‘Best Managed’ companies in the Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards Programme.

The company was recognised at a recent gala awards dinner in Dublin when Irish Prime Minister (An Taoiseach) Enda Kenny congratulated the award winners in a keynote speech at the event.

Commenting on the award, Cathal Geoghegan, managing director of The Mount Charles Group said: “We are delighted to have been recognised for the fourth year running as one of Ireland’s Best Managed Companies.

“I’m proud to say that while we have grown quite significantly in the past 18 months, we have remained true to our values and our commitment to our people remains paramount.

“The Mount Charles Group has an ethos of ‘accepting nothing less than excellence’ in all that we do, and I think the Gold Standard accolade really demonstrates that we mean what we say.”

In his address to the event Kenny said: “"It is great to see so many indigenous Irish companies achieving this best in class standard and a good sign we can achieve the aim of becoming the best small country in the world for business.

“Companies like the award-winners are the job creators who are crucial to our economic recovery.

“The government wants to build on the 61,000 new jobs created last year and, through the Action Plan for Jobs, will continue a relentless focus on creating jobs in the domestic economy."

Award judges took into account strategy, capability, commitment, and management performance, in addition to financials when assessing company performance.

The Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards Programme celebrates indigenous Irish companies.
