Catering group CH&Co hosts Footprint Forum

Abstract
The independent catering group, CH&Co, is hosting a Footprint Forum at Farmers' and Fletchers' Hall on Tuesday 21st September 2010 to discuss promoting understanding between the UK foodservice industry and agriculture.
An expert panel will include keynote speaker, Lord Carter of Coles, who will address an audience of main stakeholders within the UK foodservice industry on innovation and agriculture. Kevin Pearce, head of food and farming at the National Farmers' Union will talk about sustainable British farming and Tim Innocent, head of purchasing – Direct Materials, at Nestle will discuss the company's approach to UK milk supply. Caroline Fry, managing director of CH&Co said: "It is a great honour to be hosting this important event, particularly at such an appropriate Chester Boyd site. As a foodservice operator we are aware of the urgent need to take every possible step to mitigate the impact of our business activities have on the environment. "The Footprint Forum encourages transparency, debate and cooperation to find the right balance between commercial and environmental realities." Charles Miers, managing director of the Footprint Media Group, said: "The goal of our forums is to enlighten the path to a greener foodservice industry. "This is our fourth forum and it is entirely interactive and intended to allow members to air their opinions, uncover the paradoxes and hypocrisies, and to network within a non-competitive environment with its heart on a sustainable future."
