Nine of Vacherin’s employees took part in the seven-day journey, starting at the catering provider’s headquarters in Hatton Garden, London, and finishing at the Museum of Vacherin in the Jura region near the Swiss-French border.
Phil Roker, owner and managing director of Vacherin, said: “Luminary Bakery is a great charity. We have been working with the team there for the last 12 months through the numerous charity events that we run. Our chefs support with baking master classes and we provide mentoring for the women too.
“Luminary Bakery is not as big as other major players, so the money we have raised will make a big difference. The donations from the cycle ride will now fully fund a new training room for the charity.”
Luminary Bakery offers opportunities for women who have experienced social or economic disadvantage to build their skills and improve their future.
As part of the ‘Le Tour De Vacherin’, the independent caterer aimed to raise £15,000 for the bakery, which it has been supporting since 2017.
