Abstract
National independent contract catering company, Catering Academy, has announced that it will open 16 new contracts this month, boosting annual turnover by £18 million over the next three years.

With £5 million pounds worth of business already secured in the first half of 2013, this additional revenue will drive team academy’s annual turnover towards the £35 million mark.

The new contract wins, which are predominantly in the education sector, include Cambridge Regional College, Kingston Maurward College, Reading College and four brand new academy schools.

Speaking about the company’s recent success, Catering Academy’s founder director, Kevin Cannon, said: “Catering Academy has been able to consistently innovate and drive competitive solutions without compromising on the quality of our products, service and local support structures.

“The appointment of a new national craft team, which is headed up by our Company Executive Chef Mark Owen, has added significantly to our fresh food offer and innovative menu compilation, driving cost effective food solutions that offer value as well as fantastic tasting food.”

Earlier this year the academy also finalised its senior management team with the appointment of three regional operations directors - Clare Flanagan, North, Kevin Green, Midlands and Lesley Pekun, South.

Cannon added: “You can’t compromise on the quality of the team and the raw materials needed to produce great food. Catering Academy has continually invested in its infrastructure to allow us to continue our development whilst steadily evolving our service offering.”
