Caterer Vacherin posts 20% rise in turnover to £13.8m
Abstract
Specialist London caterer, Vacherin has seen its most successful year to date, having posted a 20% rise in turnover to £13.8m for the period ending August 31st 2014, and achieving a profit margin before tax of 4.6%.

In addition, it has retained and won over £13m of business over the past year, in terms of full turnover value for the duration of the contracts.  The company has also achieved a 100% client retention rate over a period where 56% of its business was up for contract renewal.

Vacherin recently won the contract to cater for SEB, the leading Nordic Bank, who opened a new UK headquarters near St Paul’s Cathedral.  The Vacherin team is providing a range of services including staff dining and hospitality to the 180 staff on site.

The retained business is with some of the company’s largest clients including the Disney Corporation; investor services company, Moody’s; and insurance giant, JLT. At these accounts, Vacherin provides a wide range of services including employee catering, chic café bars, executive dining and hospitality, and front of house services.

Clive Hetherington, Finance Director for Vacherin, said: “We are experiencing a significantly increased level of new business in our market sector which appears to be particularly buoyant at the present time.

“We are confident that the growth achieved in the first quarter will be exceeded as the year progresses, reflecting what we perceive to be increased confidence in the general economic climate in the capital and leading to another successful year for Vacherin.”

Mark Philpott, Managing Director of Vacherin, added: “Our retention success is wonderful confirmation from our clients that our team is doing a great job at a competitive price.

"We have had some of these clients since we started the company in 2002, which makes the retention success even more thrilling and demonstrates that they clearly think we are still providing the type of proactive, evolving and creative catering service we sold to them many years ago.”
