As the first contract caterer to use QR codes for nutritional information, Vacherin’s customers can now get instant detailed nutritional information on their smart phones by scanning QR codes on point of sale materials alongside the new healthy dishes.
The new range will sit alongside Vacherin’s existing food offer and initially focus on grab and go style dishes but will be expanded every month to encompass all elements of Vacherin’s menus.
In addition to QR codes, will be little icon stickers that communicate the overall benefit of each dish - including energising foods, products high in superfoods, ‘mood foods’, or dishes that are simply well-balanced.
Nutritious & Delicious is being launched across all Vacherin sites that feature a café or restaurant over the next 6 weeks, with launch events customised at each site to match client needs.
Mark Philpott, managing director of Vacherin, explained: “We’ve watched the meteoric rise of the smartphone and matched this with the increasing numbers of customers that want to be able to make informed decisions about what they are eating. By giving them a new range of specially developed healthy foods alongside instant access to dietary and nutritional advice, we’re catering for this need.”
