Caterer Prestige Scotland teams up with Thirlestane Castle

4th Jun 2010 - 00:00
Abstract
Prestige Scotland, the dedicated Scottish catering division of Sodexo Prestige, has secured a contract with Thirlestane Castle to run events in the grounds.
This is the first time that the castle has partnered with an external company to grow its catering and event services. Prestige Scotland will be responsible for growing both corporate and private events at the castle, identifying opportunities in both areas. The contract, which commenced in May, employs two full-time employees, five part-time seasonal workers and 14 volunteers. Prestige Scotland plans to source local produce, and this will include foraging on the castle's estate for suitable wild herbs and mushrooms. Ian I.D. Garner, Thirlestane Castle administrator, said: "Thirlestane Castle Trust and Prestige Scotland's partnership will benefit our customers in so many ways, combining one of Scotland's oldest and finest castles with truly innovative catering and unprecedented customer service". David Forbes, Prestige Scotland operations manager, added: "This is the first time that Thirlestane Castle has appointed an external company for its catering and events. We are delighted to be working with the castle, using our expertise to provide excellent food and to grow its event and catering opportunities. We hope that it is the start of a long and successful partnership."
