Abstract
As part of a three-year retail and events management contract, caterer Kudos has revitalised the Winchester Cathedral Refectory café with an organic twist.

The Cathedral kitchen will serve food prepared onsite by the Cathedral baker and will locally source Hampshire products such as New Alresford watercress, honey roasted ham hock and Hampshire haslet.

The Cathedral attracts over 300,000 visitors a year and the café has operated on its grounds for over 20 years. The refurbishment on the main restaurant is the most significant change since the addition of the Paul Woodhouse Suite and the Garden Marquee, which also sit within the grounds.

Josh Beth, retail director at Kudos, said: “Celebrating local suppliers is what we love to do at Kudos and the Refectory has plenty of them. We also wanted to bring a taste of the gardens inside and this new fresh space will keep you here for hours, we even have a stack of Jane Austen novels to immerse yourself in”.

Annabelle Boyes, receiver general at Winchester Cathedral, said: “What we have been aiming to do is to take an already much-treasured, winning formula, used by locals and visitors alike throughout the year, and give it a fresher twist. We are delighted to be working alongside Kudos to deliver this for the benefit of everybody.”

Kudos is an events management caterer at numerous venues across the UK including, The Brighton Centre, The National Football Museum in Manchester and London’s Gibson Hall.
