Abstract
Independent, Surrey-based school contract caterer The Brookwood Partnership has teamed up with the recycling company, Cawleys to promote the recycling options available to clients.

It has already launched Cawleys’ ‘Eco Eating’ system into three sites in its portfolio of independent schools so that they can recycle both food waste and food packaging alongside traditional waste and recycling.

Forming part of its Planet Matters programme, Brookwood managing partner Kate Martin said the recycling systems were proving very popular with both staff and clients.

She said: “We take our environmental responsibilities very seriously and continuously look for new initiatives that can help reduce our impact.

“By working with Cawleys we are helping to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill as well as offering our clients a positive solution to waste management.

Matt Burton, key account manager for Cawleys, said: “Cawleys and The Brookwood Partnership have been working together for the past four years.

“There is so much emphasis on waste and recycling in the media at the moment, and we firmly believe that a drive to promote efficient waste and recycling practices whilst focusing on supporting, developing, encouraging and engaging with educational establishments is clearly a great place to start.

“The services we offer cover physical waste and recycling collections, but also focus on delivering savings through state of the art green technologies which reduce carbon footprint and ultimately cost.”

Established in 1996, The Brookwood Partnership employs more than 892 people in 96 sites across the UK serving more than 45,000 freshly-prepared meals each school day.
