The contract was secured by sales director Chris Reynolds, who said: “From the moment the deal was agreed between Nic (Allen, Riverside’s owner) and I we have worked in partnership, utilising Nic’s business acumen and Amadeus’s extensive experience in mobilising venues and event management to bring this exciting project to life.
“The whole team is really looking forward to the opening next month and to maximising the potential of this amazing new venue.”
Riverside is the largest wooden structure in Europe and has been purpose-built to offer a restaurant, bar, and conference and event facilities, all of which will be managed by the Amadeus team.
Built on stilts on the banks of the River Avon to counter the risk of flooding, it is constructed predominantly from Russian spruce, cedar wood and zinc, due to their ‘green credentials and hardwearing nature’
Reynolds said this tied in nicely with Amadeus’s own green priorities – British suppliers and sustainability play a big part in the menu offering.
Riverside is well equipped for conference and team building exercises with private balconies and break-out space, whilst the beautiful setting makes it a fairy-tale location for weddings.
Managing director of Amadeus Kevin Watson said: “Riverside is a unique venue in a magnificent location. We are really looking forward to welcoming local residents and businesses, and also to maximising Riverside’s commercial success.
“This win follows the mobilisation of Cadbury World and the announcement of our new contract with Camden Council, marking a strong start to 2014 in terms of our national growth strategy."
