CATERed wins CSR award at local paper's awards night
Abstract
CATERed Ltd, the co-operative trading company owned by Plymouth schools and Plymouth City Council, has won the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) award at The Herald Business Awards 2016.

The Plymouth based catering company won the award for its Ed’s Big Summer Food Tour, the campaign to help children who need meals during school holidays.

Brad Pearce, managing director of CATERed, said: "We are absolutely delighted. We are only one year old, so this is really important. What we did (handing out free meals at locations across Plymouth last summer) was outside our core business but we recognised it was what we needed to do to support families across the city with healthy lifestyles and healthy eating”.

The company is already looking ahead with planning well under way for Big Summer Food Tour 2 coming to venues across Plymouth this August.

CATERed also picked up the Education Award, sponsored by Premier Foods, at the Cost Sector Catering Awards 2016 in March.
