Abstract
The Casual Dining Group (CDG), one of the largest independent restaurant companies in the UK, has appointed Remit Training to deliver apprenticeships across its growing chain of 300 restaurants.

Employing 8,000 employees across its businesses, which include the Bella Italia, Café Rouge, Las Iguanas and Belgo brands, plus airport concessions and its collection of restaurants in Center Parcs, CDG is introducing apprenticeships for the first time as a way to recruit and retain high-calibre individuals to its businesses.

Steve Richards, CEO of Casual Dining Group, said: “The success of our restaurants is down to the quality of the experience and service that our people deliver to our guests. Therefore this partnership is an important step in the development of our business and our people - one that will support our ambitious growth programme."

Remit Training will be working with each CDG brand to deliver a bespoke apprenticeship programme that will support the career development for existing staff and new recruits in kitchen, front of house and management roles.

Sue Pittock, Chief Executive at Remit Training said: "We have an excellent track record when it comes to working in the industry and have worked with leading brands to deliver a range of bespoke hospitality qualifications.

"We are very much looking forward to working with the CDG brands to recruit, train and develop their workforce to support their business growth plans."

The new apprenticeship partnership between Casual Dining Group and Remit Training will start as a pilot in June.
