Care UK wins four national awards for quality
Abstract
Care UK picked up four awards at the national Care Home Awards in London, including the gold award for the best large care home group.

The Care Home Awards in association with Care Home Management are an annual celebration of excellence and innovation across the care home sector in the UK.

Ferndown Manor, Care UK’s Dorset home, won the award for best food, dining and nutrition. They impressed judges by creating a leisurely and restaurant-quality dining experience for all their residents.

The monthly ‘Come Dine with Us’ initiative encourages older people from the local community to join the home for lunch, afternoon activities and entertainment.

Ferndown Manor also received a highly commended rating from the judges as the best new home in the country to open during the two years ending in December 2018.

Andrew Knight, Care UK’s chief executive for residential care, said: “These awards are testament to the incredible hard work and dedication shown by our colleagues around the country and our shared vision of enabling residents to live fulfilling lives.

“Getting to the final stage of a national award programme like this is such fantastic recognition; let alone coming home with so many wins.

“I’d like to congratulate everyone and I’m proud to lead such a positive and forward-thinking workforce.”

Care UK won two other awards including Broadwater Lodge home for best garden or outdoor space category and Manor Lodge in Chelmsford for best individual care home.
