The Redcurrant Chicken Casserole is available for patients requiring a gluten-free diet. The second main dish is a seasonal Chickpea & Apricot Tagine, available in both Apetito’s core and CarteChoix range, providing a meat-free alternative for patients who have opted for a plant-based diet.
Apetito has also launched some festive desserts to wrap up patients’ Christmas meal. For a more traditional offering, patients can enjoy Premium Christmas Pudding – perfect served with custard – or sample the brand-new indulgent Hot Chocolate Brownie.
These limited-edition dishes are also joined by a selection of returning customer favourites such as Sliced Turkey in Gravy, Broccoli, Cauliflower & Stilton Crumble, Pigs in Blankets and Sticky Toffee Pudding. In its CarteChoix range, there is also further choice such as Sliced Turkey, Fish in Parsley Sauce and Jam Sponge & Custard.
Mandy Chambers, general manager of healthcare at Apetito, said: “We understand the importance of celebrating the festive period with delicious food, which is why our menu is thoughtfully designed to bring traditional flavours and joy to your patients. Not only does each dish offer delicious taste, but our team of expert chefs, dietitians and nutritionists ensure it also provides the balanced nutrition that is vital for recovery.
“We’re also proud to be expanding our texture modified offering this year to provide patients with a safe, delicious and nutritious meal. We hope that our inclusive selection helps to reassure those living with dysphagia that they too can dine with dignity and enjoy a traditional Christmas meal.”
Believing that everyone should taste the ‘joy of Christmas’ without compromise, Apetito has also introduced a range of texture modified festive favourites that are both safe and nutritious for those living with dysphagia. Its specialist nutrition range offers a two-course Christmas meal across all its IDDSI Level 4, 5, 6 ranges, expanding on its previous offering.
