Abstract
Disability charity Camden Society is celebrating the success of former student, John Cullen, who has gone on to win an apprenticeship after graduating from its catering training scheme.

Having undertaken his training at Café 311 in Edmonton, Cullen was responsible for running the kitchen, which involved preparing and cooking food with the help of a sous-chef, as well as serving customers. Listing curries, lasagne and pasta bake as the dishes he enjoys cooking the most, Cullen said that café 311 has inspired him to work in catering, and that “he wouldn't mind working for celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey.”

He will now go on to do his apprenticeship at Unity Kitchen in Tooley street, which forms part of Camden Society’s
social enterprise.

Camden Society trains people with a learning disability in catering and hospitality and teaches them a range of skills, including cooking and customer service. It has seen 70 apprentices pass through its doors since 2011, who have gone on to work in cafés in Camden, Havering, Newham, Southwark, Tower Hamlets and Wandsworth
