Abstract
Murray Edwards College (part of Cambridge College) has promoted Teri Byrne to its newly created role of catering operations manager, to help “deliver the highest standards of customer experience.”

With over 20 years experience in the industry, Byrne – former front of house manager at Cambridge College – has recently completed a level 4 diploma in hospitality management “in her spare time, to enhance her skills for the new role.”

She said: “Meeting and surpassing the expectations of all of our customers is possibly one of the most challenging aspects of my job… How do we continue to keep customers engaged and stand out from the crowd?

“I am passionate about helping my new team (in excess of 40, including casual staff) to develop their skills and experience through our on-going training programme and collaborative discussions on how we can be more creative as a customer-facing operation.”

The new position encompasses a “broader range of responsibility for the hospitality functions” for all customers, including fellows, staff, students and conference and events delegates.
