Bunzl Catering launches sustainable future e-brochure

Bunzl Catering has launched its sustainable future 2018 e-brochure that brings together all the work the business has and will undertake for a more sustainable future in the catering and hospitality industry.

Presented in three sections, people, customers and suppliers, the brochure celebrates success to date and shares new business environmental targets in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Joanna Gilroy, head of sustainability at Bunzl catering and hospitality division, said: “In 2018 we adopted the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals as our roadmap for action.

“The SDGs underpin our sustainable future programme, which has helped raise the profile of sustainability in our business.

“We know that sustainability is not a nice-to-have, but rather a fundamental part of our core strategy, that protects and creates opportunity from the three things no business can survive without: a healthy environment, healthy people and healthy progress.”

In 2018, the programme was underpinned by a long-term objective to deliver SGD targets, which provide a clear and measureable path for continual environmental improvement up to and beyond 2020.

It is building a strategy to deliver targets on SGD goals: good heath and wellbeing, responsible consumption and procurement, climate action, life below water and life on land.
