BSA launches manufacturing training

8th Apr 2009 - 00:00
Abstract
The British Sandwich Association has launched a new web-based training programme for staff working in sandwich manufacturing.
The programme, which has been developed in close consultation with the industry, has been devised specifically for sandwich manufacturing and provides basic food hygiene and safety training for those working in this sector. Delivered online in order to minimise cost, the course takes approximately an hour to do and is fully certified by the Association. This project, which has taken a considerable time to develop in consultation with the BSA Technical Group and others, has been undertaken as a further step to improve the security of the industry. The British Sandwich Association already runs an accreditation scheme for both sandwich manufacturing and retailing. BSA Director Jim Winship explains more: "This is the first stage in the development of a comprehensive package of training for all sectors of our industry. A further course, aimed at those making sandwiches in sandwich bars, bakery outlets and in foodservice premises, will be launched this summer with others following." The course, which has been developed in partnership with specialist trainers Fast Train, is being launched at a special introductory price of £30 + VAT (normally it will sell at £37.50 +VAT) with full on-line payment facilities so that there is no delay in the process. Further information about the course can be found at www.sandwich.org.uk or by calling the Association on 01291 636338.
