Following its successful launch last year, this year’s event features 15 categories: eight product-based, three supply chain, two recipe competitions and the retail and foodservice Operators of the Year.
As well as the celebratory title, each winner will benefit from a dedicated logo to use on their advertising and POS campaigns, while the Poultry Retailer of the Year winner will be able to carry the endorsement on its entire range of everyday fresh poultry cuts for 12 months,
To get involved, companies must submit their entries before 25 May via http://www.britishpoultry.org.uk/.
The panel of judges, comprising food journalists and poultry industry representatives, will assess products against set criteria such as taste, appearance, quality, packaging and best use of the protein for the target market.
BPC chief executive, Richard Griffiths, said: “Our newly expanded awards means adding three new categories that will pay tribute to those in the supply chain who have pushed the boundaries in their area - be it in innovation, production, technology or quality standards. We will be recognising those companies or individuals who have made a material difference in their respective field.
“The event itself brings the whole industry together and, with the continued support of the top retailers, we are providing a unique platform for small and large producers of chicken, turkey, duck and goose to gain recognition for their hard work. This is the biggest event in the poultry industry calendar and key for retailers and foodservice companies.”
