British Nutrition Foundation appoints new strategic project manager
Abstract
The British Nutrition Foundation (BNF) has appointed Cathy Capelin as the new strategic project manager, effective from September 2024.

Capelin has worked in food and drink research for more than 25 years. In her current role as head of health and sustainable consumption at IGD, she works collaboratively with the food industry to deliver on IGD’s ambition to make healthy and sustainable diets easy for everyone.

Prior to this, she led the nutrition and public sector division at Kantar Worldpanel for more than ten years, with expertise in understanding consumer behaviour and the impact of Government policy.

Elaine Hindal, chief executive of the BNF, said: “We are excited to welcome Cathy Capelin to our team. Her expertise and dedication to transforming food systems align perfectly with our mission to help everyone have a healthy and sustainable diet. We are confident that Cathy will drive our strategic initiatives forward and help us achieve our goals.”

The BNF is a registered charity that provides impartial, evidence-based information about food and nutrition. They translate nutrition science in engaging and actionable ways, working extensively with people in academia, health care, education, communications and the food system, for public benefit.

In her new role, Capelin will oversee the development and implementation of strategic projects aimed at changing the food environment, working with our members from the food industry and other stakeholders.

Commenting on her appointment, Capelin added: “I am delighted to be joining the British Nutrition Foundation and look forward to contributing to their work on changing the food environment. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team and leverage my experience to drive impactful change. I look forward to advancing our strategic projects and making a positive difference.”
