Abstract
BRITA Professional has raised over £24,000 for Project Waterfall this year, taking the charitable initiative's total to £285,000.

BRITA has donated £20,000 directly to the initiative with £10,000 coming from professional filter sales as well as raising funds at London Coffee Festival 2016.

Miles Dawson, sales director at BRITA Professional, said: “Thanks to everyone who has supported Project Waterfall this year. Whether it was because you bought a professional filter, or raised money through an event in your coffee shop during UK Coffee Week, these funds make a massive difference to the daily lives of people linked to the coffee supply chain.”

At the London Coffee Festival, BRITA worked with Project Waterfall to set up “hydration stations” where festival goers could rehydrate themselves with filtered water. For each cup or bottle filled, a donation was requested for the cause.

Since the partnership with Project Waterfall began in 2015, the water filter expert has contributed over £45,000.

In 2016, Project Waterfall funds have helped a number of initiatives including projects in Ethiopia, where 51% of the rural population don’t have access to clean water. Projects in Toke Kutaye and Chelia districts aims to reach 24,500 people by 2018 providing them with clean water.

While, in Ethiopia’s Capital, Addis Ababa, Project Waterfall is funding an initiative that’s providing lifesaving water, hygiene and sanitation to the Tsehay orphanage.
