Abstract
In a bid to expand its Scottish desserts range, Brakes Scotland has created a cheesecake inspired by iconic Scottish soft drinks brand Irn Bru, complete with fluorescent orange colouring.

Irn Bru, made by Glasgow-based A.G. Barr, has played no part in developing the cheesecake, it has merely supplied the inspiration for Brakes, working with The Scottish Food Company, to create the limited edition dessert for the foodservice market that comes ready-cut in 16 portions.

John McLintock, operations director for Brakes Scotland said, "We’ve been slowly expanding our Scottish desserts offering with the Scottish Food Company and have seen great success from our Tablet and Cranachan cheesecakes, so it seemed a natural progression to launch the Iron Brew Cheesecake and we are pleased it’s a first to market.

“Love it or hate it - it will certainly go down well both with tourists and those hard-core Irn Bru fans – there is no doubt that it will be eye catching on any specials board. It’s certainly a unique product and will add an unusual aspect of provenance to a dessert menu.”
