Abstract
Birds Eye Foodservice’s fish finger range has been awarded a sustainable fishing certificate from the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC).

The MSC certification means the fishery where the fish was caught has demonstrated that it is well managed and sustainable through a comprehensive, independent scientific assessment.

Gulam Uddin, business unit controller for Birds Eye Foodservice commented on the achievement: “The move is part of our company-wide sustainability plan, Forever Food, which aims to certify 100 per cent of our fish range to help protect global fish stocks.

“Birds Eye was the first company to produce Omega 3 FF in 2007 and was instrumental in setting up Marine Steward Council Our entire foodservice fish finger range is now within the MSC portfolio – either in assessment or already certified.”

Birds Eye Foodservice supplies Omega 3 Alaskan Pollock, Salmon, Cod and Chunky fish fingers to pubs, restaurants, schools, universities and contract caterers.
