BFFF honours frozen food's 'unsung heroes' at People Awards

The British Frozen Food Federation (BFFF) celebrated the “unsung heroes of the frozen food industry” last week (22 February), as it crowned the 10 winners of its inaugural People Awards.

Following the company’s annual business conference, the awards ceremony took place at the Birmingham Hilton Metropole hotel, where the BFFF rewarded the “best and the brightest stars” from across the industry – nominated by either their manager or team leader.

 

The full list of winners, including event “highlights” - the Rising Star and Lifetime Achievement awards – are as below:

 

  • Lifetime Achievement – Andy Bret, Hopwells
  • Rising Star – Chris Healey, XPO Supply Chain
  • Commercial Champion of the Year – Jane Marren, Company Shop
  • Technical Champion of the Year – Sharni Rigby, The Authentic Food Company
  • Health and Safety Champion of the Year – Todd Hallam, Chalcroft Construction
  • Sustainability Leader of the Year – Brennan Green, Paramount 21
  • Product Developer of the Year – Rachel Cook, Bidfood
  • Factory Manager of the Year – Jason Ash, Greenyard Frozen UK
  • Supply Chain/Logistics Champion of the Year – Michael Round, Rick Bestwick
  • Marketer of the Year – Ginny Durdy, The Ice Co
  • Buyer of the Year – Michelle Clever, The Authentic Food Company

 

BFFF chief executive, John Hyman, said: “These awards are a real triumph for all the winners, and their companies and teams should be incredibly proud of their achievements.

 

“We launched the People Awards to celebrate the unsung heroes that continuously drive the frozen food industry to be the dynamic and developing sector that it is.

 

“The standard of entries we received was exceptional and it was really encouraging to see how many industry leaders put forward members of their teams that they believe are deserving of recognition.”
