Having spent ten years as a behaviour insight advisor and with specialist interest in the impact nature has on human health, wellbeing and behaviour, Jez Rose established the world’s first certified carbon neutral honey farm.
He is a vocal advocate of organic and living with positive environmental impact in mind. From his small farm in Lincolnshire he is actively reintroducing the native British honeybee and hosts popular workshops.
Speaking about his appointment to the Soil Association board of trustees, he said; “I am delighted to become a trustee of the Soil Association, and to be involved in what I sincerely believe are important discussions around the exciting future of organic and nature friendly, agro-ecological farming.
“I am especially keen to help make organic food and living accessible to as many within our communities as possible, and to explore greater diversity and inclusion to strengthen the natural connection of soil, which ultimately binds each of us, globally, together."
The Soil Association is the UK’s leading membership charity campaigning for healthy, humane and sustainable food, farming and land use. The board of trustees is responsible for the ongoing health and effectiveness of the charity.
