Using Somerset-based suppliers including Barber’s Cheese, Arthur David and Westaway Sausages, the culinary team at BaxterStorey will create nutritious dishes for the players and spectators at the 8,500-seater stadium.
Mack Allan, managing director of BaxterStorey, said: “We’re excited to bring our innovation and creativity to Somerset County Cricket Club. We will be working with local suppliers and chef consultants to celebrate the best in Southwest produce.
“Our experience working with sporting venues gives us a real understanding about what it takes to cater for a successful club like Somerset. Our chefs understand the important role that food plays in peak athletic performance, and we will bring nutritious, delicious dishes to both players, members and fans.”
Somerset members got to experience first-hand what BaxterStorey have to offer when the club introduced them at a special Membership Open Day. Over 200 members had the opportunity to sample some of the menu, including Korean style chicken with spice fries and katsu ketchup, Brixham cod battered goujons as well as parsnip veloute with smoked yoghurt and mini moss cakes.
