Abstract
Foodservice provider BaxterStorey has partnered with the RBS Innovation Gateway to support small companies with big ideas.

The foodservice provider will give SMEs and inventors the opportunity to test their sustainability innovations on BaxterStorey sites.

BaxterStorey is now on the hunt for projects focused on employee engagement and cutting energy, water and waste consumption that can be piloted across a number of its operations.

Mike Hanson, head of sustainable business at BaxterStorey, said: “We have been on the judging panel of the Innovation Gateway for a number of years and have seen first-hand the fantastic ideas this talent incubator can create. We are now really pleased to have the chance to trial some of the innovations within our business.

“Innovation Gateway is geared towards finding new and inventive sustainability solutions. For us, that doesn’t just mean building on our existing environmental credentials but also looking for creative ways to support employees and clients.  This is a real opportunity for us to add value to our business and that of our clients.”

Successful companies will have the chance to prove that their technologies work in a real environment and provide future clients with datasets to demonstrate this. The Innovation Gateway also provides SMEs with peer-to-peer networking opportunities and tools such as tailored workshops to accelerate their access to market.

Applications are open via the Innovation Gateway website and will close on 12 May 2016. BaxterStorey’s shortlist will then be asked to pitch for the opportunity to implement their innovation.
