Abstract
Foodservice contract caterer BaxterStorey launched a new smartphone app designed to ‘bring together the company’s key social media channels and biographies in one easy to navigate hub’.

Thousands of customers, clients and staff are being invited to download it to their mobile devices – iPads, iPhones and Android devices – so they can read the latest articles from the company's StoreyBook, StoreyWriters and StoreyTellers blogs, as well as check in with up-to-the-minute social media posts, view recipe videos and receive offers and discounts.

Co-chief executive Noel Mahony, said: "We believe our customers want a more dynamic and relevant connection with the services we offer and the smartphone in their pocket can help us to bridge that link.

“We are incredibly proud of the app we are announcing today, both as a communications hub and as a powerful new platform from which we can launch new and innovative customer service products that will transform those day-to-day transactions we have into a much more personalised relationship."

Integration with other apps and service products will be key to the future development of the BaxterStorey app, with a number of concepts already in the pipeline and set to be rolled out.

Simon Esner, director at BaxterStorey, said: "For us there are three key areas that we are focused on: providing an intuitive mechanism for real-time customer feedback; delivering a simple and convenient purchasing experience; and placing intuitive business communications tools in the hands of all our employees.

“These are the challenges that our new app is allowing us to solve and seeing these in development just now is very rewarding."

Thomas Kilroy, ‘StoreyTeller’ and social business manager at BaxterStorey, added: "For me, the app is a game changer and I am thrilled to have nurtured this project from an idea on a page, through the complex and collaborative process across our functions to bring this new platform to our customers and operational teams.

“By putting BaxterStorey on the device in your pocket, we have brought 'social' and 'business' together in a very transformative way that ignites the imagination. Today's launch marks the beginning of an exciting new journey for our BaxterStorey app."

Customers are also encouraged to get in touch directly by using the Feedback and Contact buttons which are central to the app’s utility.

As part of the launch campaign, early adopters who download the BaxterStorey from now until Friday could win a new iPad Mini by sharing a screenshot of their App Homescreen on Twitter (@Baxter_Storey) or lnstagram (@baxterstorey) together with the hashtag #AppYourService.
