Abstract
BaxterStorey teams stepped up to the plate to provide 50,000 meals for the UK’s emergency, security and transport services throughout the Commonwealth Games.

Working in partnership with temporary kitchen provider PKL Group the BaxterStorey team at Birmingham City University have been feeding organisers, crowd control police officers and the media.

The team prepared over 12,000 meals including chicken tikka masala with dhal, saag aloo and naan bread, mac and cheese with pulled beef brisket and crispy onions, and pulled Cajun chicken burgers.

Commenting on the team’s efforts, operations director Jon Leverett said: “It’s been a mammoth task and a real team effort! I’m so grateful to every person who’s supported us during the last couple of weeks of the Commonwealth Games, making sure our emergency, security and transport services stay fuelled for their long shifts. I couldn’t be prouder of the team.”
