BaxterStorey announces appointment of executive development chef

3rd Nov 2009 - 00:00
Abstract
BaxterStorey, an independent foodservice management company, has appointed Liam Kelly as regional development chef for the north of England and Scotland.
This appointment is the latest in a string of newly created management positions revealed by BaxterStorey, as the company continues to strengthen its footprint across the UK. Liam Kelly, a former Roux Brother Scholarship finalist, has worked for Baxter Storey for nine years. He originally joined the company as a head chef working at PA Consulting, a contract which BaxterStorey continues to service. Following a series of promotions, Kelly most recently held the position of executive chef, overseeing food and chef management for the Unilever account. This latest recognition sees Kelly become one of the company's most senior chefs. He joins three other executive chefs at BaxterStorey who lead the company's 1340 strong nationwide chef brigade. In his new role, Kelly is responsible for managing the career progression of more than 350 chefs across the North and Scotland as well as developing the company's fresh food offering across the territory. He will also play a significant role in supporting new business development. Kelly said: "The commercial realities of catering make it easy for a chef's true passion - food - to be stifled, but working in a company that is so absolutely focused on great food has allowed me to continue to do what I most love – make food a wonderful experience for those cooking it and eating it. I've been very fortunate that my career has been able to grow with BaxterStorey's success and I'm really excited about how I can continue to help the business develop further."
