Abstract
Independent caterer, Bartlett Mitchell, has been awarded an Environmental Management System (EMS) certification for the sixth year in a row - recognising its energy saving efforts this past year.

The ISO 14001 accreditation praises the company’s “commitment to reducing its energy consumption per square foot of (its Surrey) head office space through smart purchasing,” including energy lighting systems and energy economic printers.

Ian Thomas, chief executive at Bartlett Mitchell, said: “Both our current and future clients want to see that we are managing our CSER responsibilities. In some cases, we might not even be invited to tender without it, so we are expected to have ISO 14001.

“Continued management of the EMS gives confidence in our processes and demonstrates clearly that we have a structure and process in place to achieve this accreditation. It also supports Bartlett Mitchell’s CSER principles and identity as a three-star highest rated caterer with the Sustainable Restaurant Association and Sustainable Caterer of the year for the last three years.”
