Abstract
Catering company Bartlett Mitchell was commended by the 2018 Princess Royal Training Awards Tuesday (14 August), for its ‘inspirational commitment to learning and development.’

Run by the City & Guilds Group, HRH The Princess Royal awarded six UK companies for their ‘unique dedication to developing their workforce.’

As well as Bartlett Mitchell, other companies recognised in the third annual awards include: Apprenticeships in Hospitality Scotland; restaurant chain Itsu; meat producer Dovecote Park; pub retailer Greene King; and The Master Innholders.

Chris Jones, City & Guilds Group chief executive said: “Congratulations to all six hospitality companies who have achieved the Princess Royal Training Awards standard of excellence this year.

“Once again, it is evidence of the very real benefits that investing in staff development can bring to employers, large and small, private, public and not for profit.

“At a time of increasing economic uncertainty and reduced investment into workforce development, it is great to see critical business issues being addressed through impactful learning and development.

“Through the Awards, we highlight excellent examples of training that have already proved to be effective and we encourage others to build on their success.”
