The company’s chief executive Ian Thomas said that 5,000 people have been ensured clean water in the Malawian district of Mchingi as a result of the scheme.
The independent caterer launched the initiative in 2013, which sees it sell bottles of Thirsty Planet at participating client sites, with four pence of every litre purchased going to the charity, Pump Aid.
As part of the initiative, Bartlett Mitchell allocates pumps to clients and, as their customers purchase enough water to procure a pump, the company is able to work with Pump Aid to build a new facility.
Thomas added: “We are delighted with our Thirsty Planet partnership.
“Not only have we been able to provide drinking water for over 5,000 villagers in Malawi, but we are also incredibly pleased about how our teams and customers have got behind this fantastic initiative. It has helped bring everybody together to support a very worthy cause.”
