Abstract
Independent caterer Bartlett Mitchell celebrated the “talent and commitment” of its employees last week (22 March), during its annual company ‘Foodie Awards.’

Based on the company’s FOODIES values, the awards “aim to recognise high achievers who demonstrate their commitment to the business and its activities.”

With 11 categories up for grabs, over 21 individuals and teams took home prizes, including:

  • Fundamentally food - Phil Leicester
  • Obsessive about our people - Georgie Tomlin
  • Open and honest feedback - Jackie Howard
  • Dedicated to our customers - Dane Griffiths
  • Innovative in all you can do - Natasha Boshoff
  • Entrepreneurial teams - Richard Ogden
  • Support you can trust - Mahammed Sharif Diallo

  • Founder’s award - Giovanna Carta
  • Perkee area business manager and team - Damian Palmer
  • DARE vitality food champion - Amanda Dooley
  • Chef of the Year - Will Rose

Chef Adam Byatt, judge and presenter of the Chef of the Year award, said: “It was an incredible final and very competitive. The finalists were all brilliant and it was really difficult to choose between them as the standard of cookery was incredibly high. Will was a worthy winner but all the finalists should be very proud of themselves.”

Bartlett Mitchell executive chairman, Wendy Bartlett, added: “We’ve always stayed true to our values and our awards are a great way to celebrate the brilliant people that we have in the business.

“All the success we have is down to the hard work, passion and commitment of so many people and we are really pleased to be able to come together to recognise these.

“We genuinely believe that our chefs are some of the most talented in the industry and, after seeing how they all performed during the competition, I know that our business is in very good hands.”

All shortlists are developed following a 100-word nomination submission, which are then reviewed by a judging panel including Bartlett Mitchell chief executive, HR, and executive chairman.
