Baking skills on the agenda at Wessex Salon Culinaire

Abstract
Baking expertise has been added to the skills testing at the Craft Guild of Chefs annual Wessex Salon Culinaire taking place at Brockenhurst College in Brockenhurst, Hampshire, from May 28-29.

New for 2014 is the Wessex Bake Off, which capitalises on the Great British Bake Off TV sensation and is aimed at giving student chefs the chance to demonstrate their baking know-how.

Once again, this year's competition is split into four categories: Live Hot, Live Cold, Restaurant and Display, with many classes for entrants to choose – from a British game main course in the Live Hot section to napkin folding in the Restaurant Table Display.
