Abstract
Atlantic Foods, one of the leaders in sourcing products around the world, has gone CarbonZero.
As part of their commitment to the environment, Atlantic Foods have reduced their carbon footprint to a minimum and offset their remaining carbon dioxide emissions through investing in carbon reducing projects around the world. The group is supporting energy efficiency projects in Africa which can save or absorb the equivalent of Atlantic Foods' carbon footprint. Nigel Parkes, commercial director at Atlantic Foods commented further on the project in Africa: "We have invested in projects that provide local African communities with solar ovens and energy efficient stoves, this means less wood is needed for burning which not only reduces the amount of carbon released into the atmosphere but it also slows down the deforestation process at the same time."
