Sales have risen by over 30% at the 1,650-student comprehensive school since Aspens took over the meals service this term. The contract is worth £1.8 million in total turnover.
Aspens managing partner John Roe said: “It’s extremely satisfying to see the service at The Minster School proving so popular with students. Aspens is all about working with our clients and customers to provide them with a food offer which delivers beyond their expectations, so the positive reaction to our food offers is fantastic. Our team will be continuing to work with staff and students to further develop and enhance the school’s catering service.”
Dishes on the menu include hot breakfast rolls and toasted crumpets plus pizza bagels, fresh fruit pots and homemade yoghurt. The lunchtime range features freshly cooked pasta with homemade sauces, healthy hot wraps, freshly made pizzas, a tasty grab and go section and meals ranging from traditional roasts to Asian cuisine.
There is also a sixth form café serving fresh bean to cup coffee and smoothies alongside paninis and filled breads. In addition, Aspens is providing the school with a bespoke hospitality service.
Innovations proving popular at The Minster School include Aspens’ new Lunch Box outdoor eating point, which provides an additional al fresco morning break and lunchtime eating area. The company is also set to bring drama to the dining area with ‘live theatre’ counters, allowing students to watch chefs cook pasta dishes and stir-fries to order.
