13th Nov 2009 - 00:00
Abstract
Artizian Catering Services in Berkshire has won the Health, Work and Well-being category at the National Business Awards, sponsored by Orange.
Over 1200 business leaders and guests including keynote speaker Alistair Darling, The Chancellor of the Exchequer, attended the awards to celebrate the success of the UK's most innovative, ethical and resilient businesses in 2009. Artizian beat off stiff competition from nominees including Admiral Group, NHS Lanarkshire, National Grid and CSC. Robert Janes, chair of Judges, commented on Artizian's success: "Artizian may operate within a sector dominated by giant contract caterers but they stand tall among them for applying a rarely seen holistic approach to the health and well-being of their staff. "Employees are truly acknowledged as being key to the success of this business. They benefit from competitive pay and numerous schemes encompassing bonuses, childcare, life assurance, personal safety, flexible holidays, free nutritional advice, health plan – the list is a long one. The judges were deeply impressed by this organisation and concluded that perhaps it was time we all adopted Artizian's company motto – 'EAT...WORK...ENJOY... EVERYDAY.'" A total of 17 organisations and individuals were rewarded for their contributions to business success in Britain. The National Business Awards took place at The Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane and were hosted by Kirsty Wark, journalist and TV presenter.
