Abstract
Artisan bakery company Peter's Yard has scooped a double gold star rating at the 2010 Great Taste Awards.
Peter's Yard crispbreads original won gold at the 2008 awards and this year they were amongst a record number of over 6,000 food and drink producers who submitted products to be blind tasted by 350 food expert judges over a two month judging period. Peter's Yard hand-crafted crispbreads were first used by Michelin Star Chef Martin Wishart who uses them as part of his cheese course at both his Michelin starred restaurants. Today, London based Scandinavian restaurant Madsen, Edinburgh based Fishers Sea Food Restaurant and hotel chains Hotel du Vin and Malmaison are a few of the many places to feature Peters Yard crispbreads on their menus. Wendy Wilson-Bett, co-founder of Peter's Yard, who commented: "We were so proud to have won in 2008 but winning Double Gold this year is testament to all the time and effort that has been put into developing this very unique product. When Michelin starred restaurants start to serve your product, you know you have something very special "
