Abstract
The Just Love Food Company has launched their own vegan caterpillar cake called Archie, which is also egg, peanut and milk-free.

Last month supermarket chain Marks&Spencer announced they were suing Aldi after accusing the supermarket of copying its Colin the caterpillar with their own version called Cuthbert.

Ericka Durgahee, marketing manager at The Vegan Society, said: “This announcement couldn’t have come at a better time – the world has been missing a vegan chocolate caterpillar cake and we can’t wait to get our hands on one.

“Just Love Food Company already has a number of celebratory cakes registered with the Vegan Trademark as it knows first-hand how important it is to have clear labels that show customers whether a product is suitable for their particular dietary or lifestyle requirements. We’re thrilled to welcome Archie on board.”

Just Love Food, founded by a father-of-three whose children suffered with allergies, revealed the cake has been named Archie in honour of Archie’s Allergies, the charity fighting to keep children with allergies safe.

Danika Woods from Just Love Food Company, added: “Meet Archie, the bravest caterpillar in town! We are so excited by the launch, and as a company built on inclusivity and allergy management, it’s great to be able to offer a much-loved vegan version of this classic that also guarantees to be egg, milk, nut and peanut free.”

Archie will be available online from TheVeganKind from 12 May.
