Gloves were passed out to helping hands as volunteers got busy from the early morning at Sand Bay Beach in Kewstoke, North Somerset, working with the Marine Conservation Society.
Amongst the picked litter was 66 caps and lids, 581 small plastic pieces, 53 pieces of foam, sponge and insulation, 169 crisp and sweet packets and 332 cotton bud sticks.

“We were delighted to support the very important work of the Marine Conservation society to protect our marine life. Our seas are under immense pressure: too many fish are being taken out, too much rubbish is being thrown in and too little is being done to protect our precious wildlife. Our vision is for seas full of life where nature flourishes and people thrive.”
The work took place on the global Aramark building community day, the annual celebration of the company’s year-round global philanthropic and volunteer programme, where employees partner with local community organisations, leveraging the skills and service ethic of its workforce.
