Abstract
Foodservice and facilities provider Aramark’s offshore team has been recognised again for health and safety after it received a 15th consecutive Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) gold award for occupational health and safety, which means the company also wins the coveted RoSPA Order of Distinction.

RoSPA presents the accolade to organisations with an outstanding and consistent performance in health and safety over a prolonged period of time, and only companies with at least 15 consecutive annual gold awards qualify.

Aramark provides hotel, catering and facilities management services to remote sites, including oil, gas and drilling platforms, and accommodation support vessels off the coasts of Aberdeen, Great Yarmouth, Blackpool and Hull. Overseas it serves coasts off Denmark and the Middle East.

Mike Ball, managing director of Aramark Scotland and Offshore, said: “This is the latest in a series of awards for Aramark which demonstrate our excellence in health and safety; however, we are particularly proud to receive the Order of Distinction as it evidences our excellence in offshore health and safety over a sustained and continued period.

“Our dedicated people will continue to focus on this area as a priority so that our clients, who benefit from excellent quality of service from a friendly and expert team, can also be reassured that we have an approach to health and safety which is second to none.”

In operation now for 58 years, the RoSPA awards scheme is the largest and longest-running programme of its kind in the UK. David Rawlins, RoSPA’s awards manager, said: “The RoSPA awards encourage the raising of occupational health and safety standards across the board.

“Organisations that gain recognition for their health and safety management systems, such as Aramark, contribute to a collective raising of the bar for other organisations to aspire to, and we offer them our congratulations.”
