Abstract
Services provider Aramark has been named by the Ethisphere Institute in its list of the World’s Most Ethical Companies (WME) for 2013.

Aramark is the only global food and facilities services business on the list and this is the third time the company has received the honour. The recognition is one of many that the company has recently received, including being named to the Global Outsourcing 100 list by the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals.

“Operating with integrity, respect and to a high ethical standard at all times is core to who we are,” said Eric Foss, chief executive and president.

“We are grateful that our employees worldwide embrace and live those values in all they do to serve our clients and consumers. They are the main reason we are among the World’s Most Ethical Companies.”

The Ethisphere Institute is an international organisation that claims to be ‘dedicated to the creation, advancement and sharing of best practices in business ethics, governance, anti-corruption and sustainability’.

Ethisphere’s World’s Most Ethical Companies highlights companies that outperform industry peers in ethical behaviour.

For 2013, more companies applied for the World’s Most Ethical Companies recognition than any year in the past, with nominations from companies in more than 100 countries and 36 industries.

The judging methodology includes reviewing codes of ethics; evaluating investment in innovation and sustainable business practices; looking at activities designed to improve corporate citizenship; and studying nominations from senior executives, industry peers, suppliers and customers.
