The contributions have been validated by the Social Value Portal and TOMs framework, assessing the sector's positive input across local communities, employment and sustainable business practices.
Aramark UK is a foodservice partner, serving workplaces, sports and entertainment venues, educational institutions, healthcare facilities and government services nationally. It serves 260,000 meals across the UK every day.
Fiona Martin, managing director of education and healthcare at Aramark UK, said: "I'm really pleased with the sheer determination and progress we have made to make a difference within our communities. This achievement has been possible due to the entire team's support. I have big ambitions for how we will build on this benchmark with our partnership with Young Minds and other initiatives planned this year and beyond."
Aramark’s initiatives include:
- Employing a workforce that predominantly lives within 15 miles of their workplace
- Over 924 weeks of apprenticeship training delivered across 21 teams
- Collaborated with Salvation Army to offer hospitality-based skills training
- Hosted 55 hours of curriculum enrichment workshops
- Supported local communities through charity fundraising such as Young Minds
- Spent £1.196 million on supporting local and regional communities through a diverse supply chain
