The Green Kitchen Standard Champion recognises caterers that sustainably manage energy, water and waste in their operations, demonstrating a good commitment to environmental management.
Lawrence Shirazian, managing director of Aramark Food Services UK, said: “Congratulations to our hard-working Aramark team and the University of Westminster. We will continue to look at ways we can reduce our impact on the environment and hope to inspire other businesses to take important steps to support a better tomorrow and a healthier planet.
“The food industry has a responsibility to lead the effort to reduce food waste. That is why environmental sustainability is now enshrined in company policy. Sustainability is not an optional extra, but an integral part of our operations”
The Food for Life Served Here Awards celebrate exceptional people and food providers who are making a difference and inspiring others through sustainable catering frameworks.
Katherine Bojczuk, sustainability manager at the University of Westminster, added: “We are very excited to have won the Green Kitchen Standard Champion award.
