Abstract
Apetito, the meals supplier for the health and social care sector, has been shortlisted for the Innovation Award for the 2016 Lloyds Bank National Business Awards.

The awards, which have been heralded as ‘the Oscars of great British business’ by former PM David Cameron, will take place on 15th November at the Grosvenor House, Park Lane.

Paul Freeston, chief executive of Apetito UK, said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for The Innovation Award. All of us at apetito are passionate about making a real difference to people’s lives and believe that our new softer foods range is the very best of its type across the world, showcasing real innovation.

“We developed our range of meals to help the thousands of people who struggle with dysphagia, difficulty chewing and swallowing, which means eating becomes an emotional issue as well as a medical condition. We believe our range of texture modified meals improves their day to day quality of life, allowing them to dine with dignity whilst increasing nutritional intake. Most importantly, the range has bought back enjoyment to people’s mealtimes.”

The nomination comes just weeks after the food producer was awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation for the second time.
