Abstract
Food provider for the health & social care sector, Apetito, has retained its ISO 14001 accreditation following successful completion of the assessment process.
To secure the accreditation, Apetito was required to improve resource efficiency, reduce waste and drive down costs. The company also had to provide evidence that its environmental impact was being measured and improved.
Mark Lovett, sustainability manager at Apetito, said: “The ISO 14001 accreditation is a vital benchmark in helping us ensure we meet our environmental and economic goals, while enabling us to comply with legislation in every aspect of our business.
“We strive to be as environmentally friendly as possible and every change – no matter how big or small – makes a noticeable difference to our footprint.”
ISO 14001 is an internationally accepted standard for an effective Environmental Management System (EMS).
