16th Oct 2008 - 00:00
Abstract
Annabel Karmel, the baby and children's food expert has teamed up with ethnic prepared foods experts, Noon Products (part of the Kerry Foods Group), to launch a new range of 'World Foods' for children.
The range will initially comprise of four nutritionally balanced variants in flavours from Italian, Chinese and Indian cuisines. Building on the success of the hugely popular Eat Fussy range of healthy meals, Annabel Karmel has personally developed the World Foods recipes which include Chicken Tikka Masala & Rice, Chicken & Vegetable Noodles, Salmon Fishballs & Rice and Bolognaise Pasta Bake. The range is suitable for children from four years old and free from artificial colours and flavours. Speaking about the range Annabel said: "It's important to expand the taste buds of our children to prevent them from become a fussy eater statistic - now a worrying eight out of 10 children. From an early age, children are naturally receptive to a range of flavours and children's tastes are more sophisticated than parents credit them for. These subtle yet appetising flavours and spices, such as coriander and mild curry from World Foods, will expand the variety of foods that children enjoy eating." Currently performing at over £5 million at retail in baby feeding, toddler and children's foods, the Annabel Karmel brand has an expected growth of 50% for 2009. The Eat Fussy range for one to four year olds now has a retail value of approximately £4.5m per annum and has seen 64% year on year growth. Annabel's menus are served in the major theme parks like Alton Towers and Thorpe Park as well as Haven Holidays, Tootsies and from next year in Butlins.
